Akpos went to a bar to relax his
nerves this sunny afternoon. While at the bar Akpos shouted and said to the
barman “Give me a bottle of small stout and give everybody here 2 bottles of
big stout let them enjoy because when I drink stout, everybody drinks stout.”
The barman obeyed people in the bar started hailing Akpos while sipping on
their free drinks.
Akpos ordered again Barman, ‘Give me
a bottle of small stout and give everybody here 2 bottles of big stout let them

people in the bar cheered and hailed Akpos louder.
After some minutes again Akpos said
barman, ‘Give me a plate of fish pepper soup and give everybody here 2 plates

everybody eats.” While eating they were so happy and heaped praises on Akpos
while they ate and drank.
About an hour later, Akpos beckoned
on the barman and said to him, “Bring me my bill and also give everybody here

I got married to this man, traditionally, February 2010, fixed our white wedding 30th April, 2010, but he decided to turn off the wedding due to some church issues of confirmation in the Anglican Communion.
I quickly joined the confirmation class immediately in that same church according to the priest of the church in other not to miss the white wedding. After I was confirmed, he refused to fixed the wedding date again.
We never wedded again because I took in then. He stopped me from going to work and I had a baby boy in December 2010. He was so happy that he forgot himself and said all he had hidden in his heart "thank God ooo!!!, you can now go". He revealed that he doesn’t intend living with a woman all the rest of his life.
I asked him what he meant by that statement but he was shocked. Since then, we started living like cat and rat till the baby was one year and six months. He didn’t buy food again in the house, talk anymore or buy baby food. He started beating me up and keeping malice and all sorts of things.
The day I tried to know the reason for all these things, he taught me a lesson that mid-night.
Then he abandoned me and the baby. When our house rent expired, I travelled home in April 2011. His people asked him to come, which he did. He told my people that the marriage is over between us and he was asked what the bone of contention was but he said that I did nothing to him. He said his family never supported him since.
To my greatest surprised, he said he will like to go with his baby to the motherless home where the baby can be taken care of properly. My parents objected to that. Presently, my baby is with my mum in Enugu.
Now, as am talking to you, he’s begging my people for reconciliation but my parents have rejected him.
Please, readers advice me on what to do because I never loved him again.

CONFUSED WIFE:My mother-in-law is making my life miserable
I am 26 years of age. I have a life-eating problem. I married a mummy’s pet kind of husband who tells his mother everything we discuss and do in the house.
Naturally, his mother sees me as an obstacle, even though he pretends about it. Although she doesn’t shout at me but she has a way of making my life in that house hell on earth. For instance, if my husband has the urge to eat a particular kind of food and I make attempt to cook what my husband wants, she would come to the kitchen to tell me that the particular food is forbidden in that house.
The worst thing is that when my husband comes and I tell him what his mother said, he won’t say anything. Although he is the breadwinner of the family, he cannot stand up to his people to defend me. The resultant effect is that I am on my own, begging them to like me a little bit but it seems the harder I try to please them, the more determined they are to make my life unbearable in their brother’s house.
I have been begging my husband to relocate, at least, a little far away from the family so that I can enjoy my very young marriage but he has refused to listen to me. His excuse is that I would soon be back in school which is six hours drive from home.
Anytime I raise the issue of the treatment I get from his family, he is instant in defending them. His mother is in charge of my less than a year old marriage.
And it appears this is going to be the pattern of my marriage as my husband in his wisdom, built his personal house within the vicinity of the family house.
My sister-in-law who is also at home is over 30 years of age and she too is another source of my headache. I am dying slowly. Please help me.

Super Eagles:Yobo Again with Keshi over Kenya's game
Fresh crisis seems to be brewing in the camp of Nigeria’s national team as Super Eagles skipper, Joseph Yobo, has come out openly to condemn Coach Stephen Keshi for failing to inform him before leaving him out of the team that played against Kenya’s Harambee Stars in a World Cup qualifying match on March 23 in Calabar.
Yobo in an interview with sports radio, Brila FM yesterday morning insisted that Coach Keshi was disrespectful for not giving him any prior notice before his non-invitation for last month’s 2014 FIFA W/Cup qualifier against Kenya.
The Super Eagles captain, who is four appearances short of making a century of appearances for the national team, said he should have been told before the list was made available to the public.

Late Chief Kingsley Wobo’s wife, Charity, who
allegedly poisoned and tortured him to death in Mboshimini Community,
Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State has been arrested by
the police.
The 36-year-old suspect was reportedly arrested with one of her brothers, alleged to be an accomplice in the murder of Chief Wobo.
According to sources at the state Criminal Investigation Department, CID, the suspect did not act alone, as there were other suspects who assisted her in killing her husband.
Apart from this, family sources also confirmed that the relation of the woman was arrested when he visited his sister in the police station.
“Her brother had gone to see the sister (Mrs. Wobo) in police custody when the daughter of the deceased who had noticed his face the night her father was killed ordered the police to arrest him.After his arrest, the police later recovered the late Wobo’s three telephone sets from him,’’ the family sources also said.
According to the source, there were reasons to believe that Chief Wobo’s death was premeditated as he was poisoned before being tortured and stabbed severally.
However, an elder brother of the deceased who identified himself as Mr. Wobo, said the family was awaiting an autopsy on the deceased as well as police investigation reports and would not jump into conclusion.

Background
I am Beverly Naya and was born in the United Kingdom. I am Delta Igbo from Ibuzo. My full name is Beverly Ifunanya. Growing up was quiet and fun and I had a lot of cousins. I think there are about 27 of us, so we always got together.
Becoming an actress
Acting has always been a major passion of mine. I actually started in London when I was 17. I was studying sociology and psychology in school and later switched to drama and scriptwriting. I have always been more of a creative person. That is where my heart really was.
In the United Kingdom, I did a few short films for the British Broadcasting Corporation and The Metropolitan Police. I acted in a couple of theatre productions including one by Debbie Tucker-Green, called Stoning Mary and then Psychosis and Crave.
My mother came back before I did because she had always known how much I love the craft. So, she started building contacts for me preparatory to my return. It was just about the love and passion she knows I have for the industry. She just wanted to encourage and help me as much as possible because she did not want me to be in England and probably do a nine-to-five job when I could utilize my full potential in this industry. I like the fact that I can choose what I want to do and how I want to do it.
My first role
I was a lead actress in Lancelot Imasuen’s Living in Exile, which my mother produced. It was an incentive for me to come back because before then, I was not too willing. She bankrolled it to encourage me. Obviously, after shooting that film, it was a great experience and I felt motivated to work more in Nigeria.
Challenges
It has been rocky and I will not deny that. This industry has its difficulties but for the most part, it has been worth it. Watching my brand grow, my fan base increase and watching my friends and family comment on my jobs gives joy.
Nollywood
This industry allows you to be involved in production as much as possible, whereas in the film industry in England, you could be working once a year. I prefer to be working as often as possible and building my brand.
As they say, charity begins at home. I also think we are growing. We have a lot of creative and innovative minds coming into the industry and these minds will ensure that Nollywood gets to where it should be in the next 10 to 15 years.
Success
I would say because my first movie was funded it helped to a degree but I believe most of my success can be attributed to my diligence, passion and my positive energy. I do not believe there is nothing on this earth I cannot achieve especially if I put my mind to it. God has been good to me also.
Role models
I think Joke Silva is a great role model if you want to look at someone who has achieved a lot, who is married, working hard and inspirational. I would give it to her any time, any day. She is very graceful and loves to encourage emerging talents.
Style
I do not work with a stylist. I have fashion designers that I can contact if I need something to wear. For my everyday dressing, everything comes from my wardrobe or my mother’s and I borrow mainly her accessories and bags. I like to look classy, sexy, and glamorous. I like to stand out for the right fashion reasons. I love to wear high heels and I love bags.
Marriage
Fortunately as an only child, nobody is breathing down my neck. Of course, I am looking forward to the day I will get married but God’s time is the best. First, he has to be a man, he has to be God-fearing, eloquent and brilliant.
I like it when a guy knows how to treat a woman. I do not like conceited men. I just like a guy that is down-to-earth and knows how to make a woman feel special.

I do many things like modelling, script-writing, directing, dance and sing. I try to incorporate all of these things into my acting career. I write scripts all the time in my free time. None has been produced but I intend to produce a film either this year or next. It is a script that I hold very dear to my heart.

Mistress burns maid’s buttocks for being ‘promiscuous’
A 14- year-old house maid, Otobong Edet John, had her buttocks seared with hot electric iron by her mistress, simply identified as Ekaette, on the suspicion that she was promiscuous.
Narrating her ordeal, Otobong said she was receiving a call on her phone when the madam operating a canteen asked her who was on the phone and she said it was one of her friends. “But madam did not believe me and started beating me. So I ran and stayed somewhere with my friend”,she stated.
According to her, she remained in that place until about 10p.m. when she went to sleep in a church close to their shop and the next morning “when I was about coming to the shop, a neighbour saw me discussing with a customer who was asking me where I was coming from so early in the morning and went to tell my aunty that I spent the night with the man”. The madam, she said, went to the police station at nearby Atimbo Road, Calabar and reported to them that the man abducted her housemaid.
But after the police interrogated the man, they let him go and this infuriated Ekaette following which she allegedly dragged Otobong to the shop, plugged the electric iron and when it was red hot, she used the scorched parts to sear the maid’s body including her buttocks and right arm. Not done yet, she allegedly put a basin of banana on the girl’s head, asking her to go to town and sell even as her arm and buttocks were bleeding. “It was a customer who wanted to buy banana that saw that my arm was bleeding and asked me what happened and, when I showed him my buttocks, he shouted and took me to the police”, she said. The mistress, while being interrogated by the police at Akim Police Division for causing bodily harm to a minor, justified her action by saying that Otobong was a rude and wayward girl.
“When she told me it was Mary that called her, I called back that number and it was a male voice that answered and she then changed the story that she did not know what the man wanted after she had discussed with the man for over two minutes”,Ekaette said.
She said there were instances when the girl had gone from home to stay with men even as she had repeatedly cautioned her to change her ways. “That girl you are seeing is a very wayward girl and, if I tell you her story, you would marvel”, she said.
The Public Relations Officer for the Cross River State Police Command, DSP John Umoh, said the action of Ekaette was unacceptable as it amounted to child abuse and “after investigations she would be taken to court”.

Nofi, 12:Sent away from home by grandma and I fell into the rapist’s hands

“Go and bring the money you stole from my purse. If you do not get it, I will teach you a lesson today”. With this threat, 12-year-old Nofi(other names withheld) said she bolted from her grandmother’s apartment in Aiyenero, under Ajeromi local government area of Lagos State, two weeks ago. Time was 4pm.
Unsure of where to go to get the money, Nofi reportedly boarded a bus , heading for her aunt’s place in Omokomaiko.
But trouble, as gathered, started for the girl on reaching Okokomaiko, as she found she had no idea of the exact area her aunt was living. By then, it was already 9pm, as she was delayed in the unending gridlock along Lagos/Badagry expressway.
Looking confused, Nofi, who was left without a dime, reportedly demanded for money from passers-by, most of whom shunned her.
At that point, it became glaring that Nofi was in serious trouble.
“ At that instant, I broke into tears, as negative thoughts ran through my mind. I stood at the bus-stop; and not knowing what to do at that point, I slept on a table in front of a supermarket that had closed for the day”.
While asleep, she said, someone tapped her at about 11.30pm. And when she opened her eyes, a young man, who showed concern about her predicament, invited her to spend the night in his house.
Apparently seeing the visitor as her messiah, Nofi followed him home where, to her dismay, the visitor, later identified as Salawu Waheed, turned out to be a rapist. The victim narrated: “He said he would like to see if I had hair in my private part and I pulled my pants for him. Before I knew it, he applied some lotion in my private part and forced his way into me and, even when I attempted to shout, he held my mouth.
“By 6am, he gave me N20 for transport and asked me to go back to where he picked me”.
But as she left Salawu’s house, some members of a vigilante group in Okokomaiko accosted her, suspecting she could be in need of help. She was, thereafter, taken to the traditional ruler of Shibiri where she claimed her aunt lived, and attempt to get the said aunt failed.
The community leader was said to have advised that she be taken to the police station from where she disclosed all that had happened to her.
A source at the Human Rights section of Ilemba Hausa Division told Sunday Vanguard: “Immediately she was brought here, we saw some dry substance later discovered to be semen on her laps. Even when we asked what it was, she said it could be pap. But, on further investigation, she told us how she was raped. To confirm her claim, we took her to the the Badagry General Hospital where a test conducted on her confirmed forceful penetration and broken hymen”.
Following the confirmation, 22-year-old Salawu was arrested. But, in his statement, he denied having carnal knowledge of Nofi, maintaining he only offered her a place to sleep until the next day.
However, when asked about her parents, Nofi told the police they were dead.
“ She told us she was an only child and that she ran away from her grandmother’s house whom she accused of maltreating her”, the source said.
To confirm her claim, security operatives reportedly took Nofi to her grandmother’s place, only for them to discover she had told a lie concerning the 80-year-old woman.
“On sighting Nofi, the grandmother rushed towards her and hugged her, thanking God at the same time for seeing her. When we asked about her parents, the old woman told us her mother was dead but that her father, a bricklayer, was alive. To confirm her claim, we asked her to send for the father, who later showed up at the station. We also discovered that Nofi was the fourth child”.
Meanwhile, Salawu, as gathered, could be charged to court.

But unknown to their fans , they do not see eye-to-eye as a no love lost situation exists between the duo. They avoid each other like a plague.
Obioha, a reputable event planner, had invited the crème of the society to witness the launch of her latest business venture. These two actresses made the guest list and honoured the host with their presence.
Henshaw-Nuttal, who arrived earlier than Nnaji, enlivened the arena with her presence. Full of smiles, she chatted animatedly with other guests and her infectious warmth spread around.
All of these ceased when Nnaji walked into the venue. Not only did Henshaw-Nuttal’s countenance change, the actresses did not say hello to each other. The pair carried on as if the other did not exist. Subsequently, Henshaw-Nuttal left the venue of the party straight-faced.
