How ex-militant stripped, sèxually assaulted waitress

Goodluck Dudu is a former militant undergoing rehabilitation in Lagos. What could have got him involved with a waitress in the hotel he is staying that now landed him in police net?

Goodluck Dudu is one of the reported Niger Delta militants said to be undergoing refresher courses in one of the tertiary institutions in Lagos State. He and no fewer than 30 of his colleagues are lodged at the Lagoon Hotel in Akoka area of the city. Since the militants arrived at the hotel, life has never been the same for the owners and workers there.
It was reported that the lifestyle of the militants soon made operators of the hotel ponder over their continued stay in the facility. The atrocities of the militants, however, peaked recently when one of them allegedly attempted to rape a waitress.
Deborah Kadiri (not real names) has reportedly been working as a waitress at the hotel in the last three years. Deborah, 24, is reported to be one of the good-looking waitresses the hotel could boast of.
Her beauty aside, Deborah is said to be a decent and level headed young woman. However, on Monday, 24 June, 2013, while performing her duties, Deborah got the shock of her life when one of the guests she was assigned to serve in his room stripped her naked and attempted to rape her. She reportedly escaped the challenge by sheer luck.
On the fateful day, Dudu reportedly phoned the reception of the hotel asking to be served Semovita and Egusi soup. Rather than go to the restaurant to have his food, Dudu requested that the food be brought to his room 403 of the hotel.
It was reported that once the food was ready, a call from the kitchen was put to Dudu to intimate him that a waitress was bringing it to his room. But before the stewardess bearing the food arrived, Dudu had reportedly undressed with only a towel to cover his body.
Moments later, there was a knock on Room 403 and Dudu beckoned on the person at the back of the door to come in. Deborah emerged from the door bearing a tray in her hand where Dudu’s food order was neatly packed.
But Deborah was shell shocked to see that the occupant of the room was stark naked (for Dudu had reportedly removed the only towel covering his body). It was reported that when Deborah entered the room and saw the guest stark naked, she turned back to go out of the room apologising profusely. But to her surprise, as she turned to go out, Dudu reportedly got off from the bed and made towards her.
He allegedly encircled her, still stark naked, and urged her to be calm. He reportedly asked her to sleep with him promising to give her a large amount of money for her ‘gesture. She reportedly refused the money offer, Deborah reportedly declined, insisting that she had never had sèx in her life as pre-marital sèx was forbidden in her culture.
For about 10 minutes, Dudu reportedly pestered Deborah to sleep with him but when it became clear that the lady would not do his bidding, Dudu reportedly asked that he saw Deborah’s nakedness since she had seen his own nakedness, and even threatening to stab her with a knife on the table should she refuse him sèx.
At that stage, Deborah reportedly started crying for help at the top of her voice. While Deborah struggled to free herself from the grip of Dudu (having dropped the food she brought on the floor of the room), a colleague of Dudu, lodged in a room close by, dashed into Room 403 to see what was amiss.
By then, Dudu had forcefully carried the lady unto the bed and torn her clothes up to her panties. It was the other militant that reportedly wrestled Dudu to the ground and freed the waitress, who ran down the corridor wailing. Deborah headed straight to the office of the hotel manager to report the matter and showed how she had been molested by Dudu.
The hotel authorities soon called in the police and Dudu was promptly arrested and taken into custody. Dudu, in his statement at the police station, did not deny the charge against him. He only claimed that he did what he did under the influence of alcohol because he claimed he was heavily drunk that day.
He however denied threatening to stab her as Deborah alleged. “I have myself to blame for this act. On that day, we were all heavily drunk before we retired to our rooms. I knew I called the kitchen to prepare food for me but I did not know when I started wrestling with her to sleep with her. Maybe the sèx urge came on me while under the influence of the drinks.
But there is no truth in the claim that I threatened to stab her if she refused me sèx,” Dudu said. Deborah was said to have left for her house shortly after Dudu was arrested and has not returned to work since.
A waiter at the hotel, who would not want his name in prints, told Saturday Mirror that since ex-militants came into the hotel, there had been no peace. “When we reported the activities of the people to the management when they first came, no one believed us. But we have been vindicated now. The hotel has never been at peace since they arrived here,” he said.
When Saturday Mirror called the police station where Dudu was being detained, no one was ready to comment on the matter as the Divisional Police Officer was said to be away on official assignment.

The Love Story Of Comedian Princess And Her Husband

Popular Nigerian female comedian, Princess, and her movie producer/director husband, Adeshola Jeremiah, tied the knot on Wednesday 8th May 2013 at the Balmoral Hall, Oregun, Lagos. It was indeed a happy day for 'Madam' Princess who had almost lost of hope of finding a husband.
Below is their very interesting love story...

On what attracted her to Adeshola Jeremiah

Well he is a quiet person and if not for the fact that I am into entertainment, I also like my privacy, I don’t like unnecessary show-off. If I go somewhere and they don’t recognize me, that is very okay by me, I just love to be myself.

How They Met
He saw me when I went for their program in Odunfa Cancus (A Yoruba Theatre Group). I went because of a friend of mine Latifat, who was also trained there. She was in UNILAG and my junior in Theatre Arts. So I went there and that was where he saw me and that was like so many years ago in 2005.

Every time I visit my friend, because they are always together, he will see me there, he couldn’t approach me, not because of my status but the fact that anytime I come I will just play with everyone for like 5 to 10 minutes and just zoom off. And I play and smile with everyone but I don’t give that chance that I am easily approachable in order not to draw unnecessary attention.

Things Were Different This Time…
Then in 2008, he was shooting his own movie, I also went there to see a friend of mine, he saw me again and went to meet that friend of mine, he told her he wanted to meet me that he would want me to play a role in the movie.

My friend discouraged him saying if he should meet me, it will look like they didn’t plan themselves well. That same year, he was with that my friend when I came to visit and he told her “I really want to marry Princess” (laughs) and my friend started laughing and she told him it’s not possible.

He kept on pestering her and told her why don’t you tell her first and lets hear what she says, she (Latifat) now said I don’t think I can tell her, Princess is my very close friend and I can’t tell her that because Princess doesn’t have time for men now and she has said it’s her work for now. But he continued disturbing her to tell me, so that day we were watching a TV program and I love cooking so she saw a dish and said this dish is very nice how I wish I could eat it now and I said oh you want me to stand up and go prepare this food, so when I went to the kitchen.

She later came into the kitchen and said she wanted to tell me something, and I said what is it, she said this person likes me and wants to marry me, so I just started laughing, it was very funny, she felt embarrassed and went back to the sitting room, I asked her why won’t I be embarrassed, when the person told you, why didn’t you just tell him Princess won’t agree and she said that’s exactly what she told the person but the person insisted.

I told her to give the person my number, and when he called I was just laughing, he asked “what’s funny”, I said nothing, he now said “well he is Latifat’s friend” and I said yes I know that, and I started bombarding him with questions just to discourage him, so he won’t call again.

So when his credit got finished, he called back again. I said this one I have been asking him many questions na wa o but its okay do I have more questions to ask? and I said yes o and started asking him more questions, I asked him questions again till 11:30 PM, he ran out of credit again and called back, and I am like where are you getting all the money for this credit, he just said “don’t worry I will call you back”, when he called back again he asked if I had more questions and I said no because it was already past midnight and we have been talking since past 6.

Friend to Fiance
That was it! We later became friends and got very close, then he said he wanted to marry me and even told me many things about myself. I was quite surprised and wondered how he got to know all about me. That was how we started and things continued but we just decided to keep everything low key. At first I felt it was low key and if he disappionts me, it won’t hurt too much, but when everything became too serious that was how everything went then we started meeting our families and I discovered that some people he knew, were also the same people I know.

On her sudden wedding announcement
Yes we have been planning it but because my sister was getting married on February 14th, we just felt that hers is the reigning wedding and they were the latest couple, so we concentrated more on hers and also we were trying to avoid the news reaching the press.

So I think 3 weeks or about a month to our wedding, we had already done the introduction and that was when we now started distributing the invitations, because we said if we give people the IVs earlier, news will go around. My husband started distributing his cards a month to the wedding but I started 2 and a half weeks to the wedding because I just said everybody will hear.

On not wanting to publicize her Wedding
The thing is, that’s the kind of person I am. I am just there, I just believe I am like every other Nigerian and even though my work has exposed me and made me to be seen or perceived as a celebrity, my partner is not a public person like that and we just didn’t want too much noise.

Even the day I sent text messages to some of my friends, the next day I started reading so many stories on the internet, and you can imagine that people wrote on the internet that Princess is getting married because she was pregnant and now she is trying to get one guy to marry her.

It was even my husband who saw it and called my attention to it. He was lying on the couch and just laughing and I was like, what’s funny and who are you chatting with?, he just said there is something they wrote on the internet and I said what, he just said it’s on Facebook, they said you are pregnant, and I said don’t mind them but I just felt bad because people sometimes naturally find it difficult to be happy for others.

Even now that I am married, I pray to have kids but you can’t start spreading rumours that somebody is getting married because they are pregnant. You don’t have an insight nor information about them, you can’t reach those people so you just write anything you want. But anyway I didn’t let that bother me, I just kept it to myself. Even when I was rehearsing for my show because we had two different dance routines and it was difficult, so I didn’t even have time to dwell on that.

On what she loves most about him
I love everything about him and he is very understanding. He understands the essence of us being on earth which is just to worship God and he is God fearing.

That’s the first thing I noticed about him and I was even surprised. I have always said If I had choice, I will marry a musician but then which musician can I now marry (laughs). He is very God fearing and at least we are not perfect but if you are God fearing, you will always know when you are doing something wrong

Graphic photo: Man who slit girlfriend's throat and had sèx with her speaks

Most of you have read the story, but just to remind you. On Tuesday April 30th, a 25 year old bricklayer named Akinloye Anuoluwapo slit his ex-girlfriend's throat, a 21year old girl named Rafiyat Akinyemi, then had sèx with her as she bled to death in her father's house at Ogijo in Ogun state.

The girl had dumped him and that was too much for him to take. He went to her house armed with a knife and attacked her. Akinloye (pictured above) explains what led to the killing...
On April 29, I missed her call, and in annoyance, she sent me series of annoying text messages, warning me not to call her or come to her house. I had once sent a message to her, appealing that she should not abandon me because I was disowned by my parents because of her, saying that I would commit suicide if she did. In reference to that message, she said I could die for all she cared, saying that my exit would create more enjoyment for the living, including herself.

"I was so disturbed that I could not concentrate at work the following day, April 30. I went back home to take a knife I kept in my box. I went to her house around 8.30a.m. and met her alone. I was thinking I could use the knife to frighten her because we used to quarrel like that and settle it. To my surprise, she stood up and started shouting at me, saying she had warned me not to come to her house again.

"
She held me and we started struggling in her parents sitting room. I made up my mind to have sèx with her and I was able to penetrate her as we were struggling with each other. It was in the process that the knife pierced her throat. Immediately I saw blood, I was afraid, so I drew the knife out and ran away.
“I called my company’s lawyer and told him. I also called my friend, Gbenga, to go to Rofiat’s house and assess the situation. He told me he saw her where she was lay, dead.
“I lost my peace and could not do anything at work until the police came to arrest me. I know that I have sinned against God and erred against the law of the land. I know that the law cannot spare me, I know that I will die, but I just pray that God will forgive me. I know I will be hanged but I just pray that God will receive my spirit.”

SEE The First Photo Ever Uploaded To The Internet

The first picture ever uploaded on the web was posted by Tim Burners Lee (inventor of the World Wide Web) on behalf of a comedy band called Les Horrible Cernettes.
Report

Every day millions of photos are uploaded to the Internet on countless blogs, Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, etc. But have you ever wondered what the very first image upload looked like? Well look no further, because the tech site Motherboard has done the digging for you.

In 1992, a picture of the parody band Les Horribles Cernettes, that was digitally altered in Photoshop, earned the distinction of becoming the first Web photo upload. So who are these ladies pictured in the image? The group of ladies were lab employees who worked for CERN, a research laboratory in Geneva where major discoveries have been made, including the project that started the World Wide Web, created by British computer scientist Tim Berners-Lee.

Berners-Lee was looking to test a Web system that could support photos and asked IT developer Silvano de Gennaro to provide an image. De Gennaro chose an edited image of the ladies of Les Horribles Cernettes, whose nerdy song lyrics included the words "you say you love me but you never beep me." Part of the reason the upload was so revolutionary was because the Internet was previously seen as a place for conducting serious business, not having fun.

De Gennaro, who snapped the picture of the ladies for their next CD cover, never could have imagined the place it would have in history. "I didn't know what the Web was," he said later. "When history happens, you don't know that you're in it."

July 18 marks the photo upload's 20th anniversary.
